Kanguru solution  has unveiled  Eco energy save portable hard drive which claims to be the “most environmentally friendly and energy efficient external hard drive on the market. This energy save portable hard-drive comes with 3 power saving modes that  make its power consumption go as low as 75% when compared to normal portable hard drives on market.

Here are the power-saving modes on the Kanguru ECO portable hard drive:

• Idle – after 3 seconds of not being used, the power consumption goes to 80%
• Standy – 3 minutes, goes from 10% to 20%
• Power Down – 5 minutes, the lowest 5% to 10% of power

The energy save portable hard drive is compatible with Windows 98, Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and with Mac OS X. Through the window 2000 , XP and Vista. Beside that, you can configure the power modes on Kanguru Eco drive.The Kanguru Eco Drives cost between $95 and $350, depending if you want a hard-drive with 80GB or 750GB.
